New Bill Requires NJ Veterinarians to Provide Notification in Absence of Supervision

A new bill was recently signed into law by New Jersey Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno which requires veterinarians operating at for-profit animals hospitals and veterinary clinics in the state of New Jersey to provide written notification to the pet-owner when the veterinary facility does not provide supervision to animals after normal business hours.

Written notification is required when:

“This veterinary facility does NOT provide supervision for animals after normal business hours by a person physically on these premises.”

The bill referred to as “Betsy’s Law” is scheduled to go into effect immediately.
