Delaware: Loophole Creates Uneven Enforcement of Doggie Daycare and Pet Boarding Facilities

A recent investigation by The News Journal shows that many doggie daycares, pet boarding facilities and seroquel in the state of Delaware operate without kennel licenses and regular inspections.

Obtaining a kennel license in the state of Delaware is optional.

Licensed facilities are inspected by animal control officers to check for the humane treatment of animals including adequate lighting, ventilation, drainage and space. Unlicensed kennels are only inspected in response to a cruelty complaint.

Kennel inspections are performed by First State Animal Center and SPCA.
