Dog Tethering Legislation Proposed for Nassau County, New York

Nassau County, NY legislator Dave Denenberg (D-Merrick) has recently proposed a dog tethering bill to protect dogs from harmful and inhumane restraint.

According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) more than 200,000 dogs are chained or accutane outdoors.

The proposal would prohibit the tethering of dogs outside for more than 2 hours in any 12 hour period and would limit the length and weight of the dog chain.
