A growing number of pet-owners are turning to online Crowdfunding platforms such as GoFundMe in order to raise money to help pay for Veterinary Care.  Since 2010, more than 157,000 campaigns have been started in the “Animals & Pets” category on the Personal Fundraising Website GoFundMe.com which has raised more than $21 million in donations according WTOP News.

Donations have increased 256 percent in the “Animals & Pets” category from 2013 to 2014.
