VCA Animal Hospitals Shrinks its Urgent Care Footprint

VCA Animal Hospitals has recently permanently CLOSED at least 17 urgent care hospitals in five states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois and Texas), according to the VIN News Service. VCA’s urgent care locations aim to offer pets and owners another option when seeking care, focused on non-life-threatening issues that should be addressed same or next day. In 2022, the company launched its first VCA Animal Hospitals Urgent Care in Mar Vista, Los Angeles — a new care option expanding on its network of primary, emergency, and specialty animal hospitals.

VCA, owned by Mars Inc., operates more than 1,000 hospitals in the United States and Canada, according to its website — the company plans to maintain its urgent care hospitals in select locations.
